Weekly Practice

PATIENCE, KINDNESS, AND GOODNESS: Encourage a Kid

YOU DON’T HAVE to be a parent to help raise a kid. Children and teenagers thrive when they feel valued and known by the adults who surround them. This week, go out of your way to let a child or teen know you value them. Send a card, give a gift, or ask their parents if you can take them out for ice cream. It may be a niece, nephew, neighbor, a coworker’s child, or someone in your church. If you’re having trouble identifying a child to encourage this week, pray about it and see how the Lord leads you. If you are a child or teen, think about an adult who makes you feel welcome and valued. Find a way to tell them how much they mean to you this week.
