PRACTICING THE LORD’S PRAYER
Play

Scripture: May your kingdom come soon.” (Matthew 6:10a)

WE MIGHT THINK that the kingdom of God comes by buckling down and working really hard. But Jesus talks about the kingdom as a joyful surprise, even a party. When we play, we live into the truth that God’s kingdom is a gift that brings us rest and joy, and frees us to share it with others. This week, make intentional plans to spend time playing. Play is something that doesn’t always feel productive, and it’s often something that makes you lose track of time. If you have a hard time remembering how to play, spend some time with young children and just join them in what they do so naturally.

Have a blessed week!
