PRACTICING THE LORD’S PRAYER
Wants Check

Scripture: “May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.” (Matthew 6:10b)

IN TWENTY-FIRST-CENTURY AMERICA, the concept of getting what *I* want has become the highest priority and the ultimate good. It is highly unusual, and rather uncomfortable, to ask that God gets everything God wants, instead of asking that we get everything we want! This week, take at least thirty minutes and make a list of everything you want—both material and immaterial. When the list is complete, pray over it, asking if any of those things show up on the list God wants for you. Pray that the Spirit would help you desire what God wants, and ask what to do about the list of things that only you want.

Have a blessed week!
