PATIENCE, KINDNESS, AND GOODNESS
Driving the Speed Limit
OBEDIENCE IS DIFFICULT for people of all ages because, if we’re honest, we just don’t want to submit to another person or authority. Submission doesn’t mean we don’t think for ourselves or lose our autonomy, but it does mean we suppress our own desire for control. This week, take simple steps of obedience by following the speed limit every time you drive. If you don’t drive, take care to follow all posted signs for pedestrians and/or cyclists. When you find yourself speeding or jaywalking, let it serve as a reminder of your own difficulty with submission, and your impatience. Ask the Spirit to give you a desire to want God’s authority in your life and to grow in you the fruit of patience.
Have a blessed week!
