Weekly Practice

PATIENCE, KINDNESS, AND GOODNESS
Value Search

THROUGHOUT SCRIPTURE, GOD seems intent on using all the “wrong” people to accomplish his work: liars, swindlers, prostitutes, the uneducated, those with disabilities and flaws. Jesus put words to this odd value system when he said blessed are the poor, and the hungry and thirsty, and those who mourn. In the kingdom, there’s a high value placed on knowing one’s need. This week, take notice of what you value in the people you work with, in your family, and in yourself. Ask the Spirit to help you see what God values in you and in others around you. Be on the lookout for those who are peacemakers, those who are meek, and those who are gentle. They often are overlooked by the world’s value system, but they are the highly valued and blessed citizens of God’s kingdom.

Have a blessed week!
