Weekly Practice

LOVE, JOY, AND PEACE: Awareness of God in Creation

CHOOSE AT LEAST one day this week during which you will allow yourself time to become deeply absorbed in nature as a way of experiencing God’s goodness. Instead of rushing past your ordinary landscape, take some time to notice the extraordinary in it. Pay great attention to the sights, sounds, and colors of nature, and marvel in their beauty. As you sit in creation, give your attention to enjoying it as you would a famous painting in an art museum. God, the Master Artist, has put all of creation before us to bring forth joy and beauty. Know that, even if it looks like you are doing nothing, you are engaged in holy work.
