Weekly Practice

CHRIST THE KING SUNDAY: Meditate on the Kingdom

Scripture: John 18:33-37

MEDITATION IS THE practice of focusing our attention on one thing for an extended period of time. It is especially helpful to meditate on things that seem paradoxical or confusing at first. Jesus says many things that are not immediately easy to understand, but he also invites us to ponder his words further. This week, set aside at least thirty minutes, perhaps using your normal time for Bible reading and prayer, to meditate on Christ’s kingdom. What is it? Where is it? What does it mean that Jesus’s kingdom is “not of this world”? As you ponder these questions, ask the Spirit to guide you not only to understand but also to experience the kingdom of Christ.

Have a blessed week!
