Look for Jesus

Scripture: Luke 24:13-35

LIKE THE DISCIPLES on the road, we often don’t recognize Jesus when he is with us. Although Jesus is not present to us in body, he continues to come to us in all kinds of ways. We often expect to encounter him through Scripture, but this week we will look for Jesus everywhere, even in the stranger on the road. Sometimes we too can feel “our hearts burning within us” (Luke 24:32), but much of the time we can recognize Jesus’ presence in inexplicable peace, unexpected hope, a redemptive conversation, a change of heart, a compassionate act, or a call for justice. As you look for Jesus, pay attention to where you find him. You may even want to write it down and ask how he is inviting you to respond.
