Weekly Practice

SEVENTH SUNDAY OF EASTER
Pray for a Different Church

Scripture: Acts 1:6-14

TRAGICALLY, “UNITY” IS not the first word that comes to mind when people are asked about Christians. We often allow differences to bring division and end up competing against one another rather than cheering one another on. This week, spend time learning about and praying for a church in your area that isn’t your own. Especially look for a church of a different language or ethnic group. Drive by the church building, visit the website, or find out if you know anyone who is part of that church. See what you can learn about what they are doing, how they are seeking to serve the community, and who attends their church. Pray earnestly that God would use this congregation to further God’s kingdom and produce good fruit in your community. Pray for their pastor(s) by name, maybe even writing it in a note or an email. As you pray for this church, pray also that Jesus’ own prayer for unity among his church would be answered.

Have a blessed week!
