Weekly Practice

PRACTICING RESURRECTION
Waking Up

“For the light makes everything visible. This is why it is said, ‘Awake, O sleeper, rise up from the dead, and Christ will give you light.’”

Ephesians 5:14, NLT

THIS WEEK, USE the process of waking up as a way to practice resurrection. Be intentional as you move from sleep into your day. Here are some ideas to help you:

  • See if you can make prayer your first conscious act. Ask God for knowledge of his presence as you begin the day.
  • As you move through your morning routine, look for opportunities to invite God in. Talk to Jesus about the events of the day ahead or about memories from the day before.
  • Write a scriptural reminder or a word of encouragement for yourself the night before. Post it on your bathroom mirror or near your coffee pot to help guide your thoughts early in the morning.

Have a blessed week!
